Stop the UK funding of human rights abuses in Bahrain

The previous government pumped at least £13 million into Bahrain’s justice and security sectors. Then a few months ago they pledged to continue this support, to the tune of more than a million pounds of taxpayers’ money in that year alone.

This is the despite the fact that these UK-funded bodies continue to whitewash torture and the death penalty in Bahrain.

We are asking the new government to suspend UK funding to these bodies, until independent international experts verify they are no longer enabling abuses.
