Ask the Met Police to take responsibility and apologise to Ali Kololo

Ali Kololo

Over a decade ago, the Metropolitan Police assisted in the conviction and sentencing of an innocent man to death.

Ali Kololo, a Kenyan father of two, was sentenced to death in a deeply unfair trial. Worse yet, the seriously flawed investigation and prosecution was assisted by the Met Police.

A senior Met officer provided evidence on behalf of the prosecution at Ali’s trial. He relied on an incriminating statement taken from Ali under torture.

The Met officer also omitted key forensic evidence, which if presented could have stopped Ali from being convicted.

Now that Ali is finally free after more than a decade away from his family, it is time the Met issued an apology to Ali and begin to make amends for the suffering he and his family have experienced.
