The US prison camp at Guantánamo Bay opened two decades ago, on 11 January 2002. The US government have wrongfully and illegally detained over 800 Muslim men there.
Reprieve clients have been locked up in Guantanamo Bay without charge or trial for two decades. They are 'forever prisoners’ - subjected indefinitely to torture, abuse and detention.
Even the detainees ‘cleared for release’ like our clients Saifullah, Ahmed and Asadullah are waiting in the dark, without any information about when they'll be returned home.
That's why we need to speak up: Guantánamo needs to be shut down.
