Save Abdullah al-Howaiti | Saudi Arabia

Abdullah al-Howaiti was 14 years old when he was abducted by Saudi Arabian authorities and tortured until he 'confessed' to crimes he couldn't have committed. As confirmed by court documents, CCTV footage placed Abdullah at the seafront 200km away from the scene of the crime.

The Supreme Court overturned Abdullah's conviction in November 2021. This was good news. But he was retried, and on 2 March 2022 Abdullah was sentenced to death for a second time.

Saudi Arabian prison authorities then put Abdullah in solitary confinement. In response, he went on hunger strike. He subsequently collapsed and was hospitalised. His physical and mental health are deteriorating.
