Abdullah al-Howaiti was 14 years old when he was abducted by Saudi Arabian authorities and tortured until he 'confessed' to crimes he couldn't have committed. CCTV footage, confirmed by court documents, shows Abdullah was not at the scene of the crime – he was at the seafront playing football with his friends.

The Supreme Court overturned Abdullah's conviction in November 2021. But he was retried and sentenced to death for a second time. On Monday, 13 June 2022, the Court of Appeal upheld this death sentence.
