Sign our petition to President Trump: Stop imminent executions in Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is set to execute 14 prisoners, all sentenced to death on protest charges, within hours.

Among those facing imminent execution is Mujtaba Al-Sweikat, who was only 17 at the time of his arrest. Mujtaba was arrested while boarding a plane to the US, where he was due to take up a place at Western Michigan University. In their efforts to force a 'confession', Saudi forces tortured Mujtaba, burning him with cigarettes and beating him so badly they broke his shoulder. Mujtaba was a bright student with a promising future in the US; arrested for allegedly attending a pro-democracy protest, he now faces imminent execution by beheading in Saudi Arabia.

Also set to be executed is Munir Adam, a disabled protestor who was tortured into signing a false ‘confession’. Munir was tortured so severely that he was made completely deaf in one ear. He now faces execution, simply for exercising his right to free speech.

Mujtaba, Munir, and 12 other young men arrested for protest-related offences could be executed at any time. These executions are unacceptable - we must not allow them to go ahead.

It is essential that President Trump, who has made close ties with Saudi Arabia a priority for his Presidency, condemns these unlawful executions. Please help us to stop these executions by signing our petition to President Trump now.

Mujtaba Al-Sweikat was only 17 when he was arrested for allegedly attending a pro-democracy protest. Mujtaba was subjected to brutal torture, including severe beatings with cables and hoes and burning with cigarettes, in order to extract a ‘confession’. During his torture, Saudi forces broke Mujtaba’s shoulder, and denied him access to medical care.

Mujtaba had received offers to study at both Western Michigan University and Oregon State University, and at the time of his arrest was about to board a flight to the US explore the campuses.

Disabled protester, Munir al-Adam, is also facing imminent execution for attending a pro-democracy protest. Munir was tortured so brutally that he was rendered completely deaf in one ear. He was sentenced to death solely on the basis of a 'confession' extracted through this torture.

I call on Donald Trump to condemn the imminent execution for protest-related offences of 14 people - including at least two juvenile offenders and a disabled prisoner - in Saudi Arabia. These unlawful executions are unacceptable and must not be allowed to go ahead.
